It's a Summer Film
Work overview
A Japanese high school student and her friends want to make a samurai period film instead of the teen romance planned by their film club. She recruits classmates for a separate production of the film-within-the-film Samurai Spring. She tries to persuade a boy her age whom she meets to star in the film, and he reluctantly agrees. During filming, she repeatedly revises a showdown scene in her film, while another production within the film club shoots a romantic comedy with a larger budget. When a supporting actress on the other set faints, her team asks a teammate to take over the part.
